The concept of psychological safety—the idea that employees won’t suffer negative consequences if they express ideas, ask questions, voice concerns, or make mistakes—has never been more important. But as many organisations moved to remote work during the pandemic and seek to move forward with a hybrid model, creating a safe work environment for all employees faces new challenges.

“You have to have multiple plays in your playbook on how you handle your people and how you engage with them,” WorkForce Software CEO Mike Morini told Business Insider.

He suggests giving teams time to devote to creative projects, hosting virtual happy hours and video gaming hangouts, and even implemented an “Ask the CEO” program to encourage employees to share their thoughts, questions, and concerns.
